Kimm Topping, Ed.M. (they/them/theirs) is an educator and writer with experience in non-profit management, fundraising, and communications. Kimm’s work values youth voice & leadership, anti-racism, anti-oppression, and trauma-informed education.
Kimm began their work as a youth worker in 2014 at Tutoring Plus where they trained volunteer tutors and led a girls’ media literacy program. In 2016, Kimm began facilitating trainings focused on supporting LGBTQ+ communities to schools, non-profits, shelters, and domestic violence agencies.
Since, Kimm has worked closely with organizations on professional development, curriculum, and organizational change as a consultant for the Safe Schools Program for LGBTQ+ Students, The Network/La Red, Building Audacity, A World of Difference Institute, and MaeBright Group LLC. Kimm co-founded kyriQ with their partner, Minh Nguyen, and they provide LGBTQ+ inclusion trainings together. As a researcher for the Cambridge Commission on the Status of Women, they write the Mapping Feminist Cambridge series.
They are currently writing their first full-length book, GENERATION QUEER, a non-fiction book that highlights the stories of 30 LGBTQ+ youth activists. For fun, Kimm is either staring longingly at their two cats, learning about queer history, or giving love to their chosen family.
